Someone said, "It's only hair"

When I first realized I was going to lose my hair because of my chemotherapy for breast cancer, of course I was devastated. I realize the reason I was upset was because another choice was taken from me. I was going to lose my hair or at least some of it, and it wasn’t my idea. And it was also very painful to my scalp. So there was a mental and physical challenge for me to overcome. But I overcame it!!! Just like a spring garden my hair came back just as beautiful as before. Along with it came my renewed sense of self.
