What are these mystery liquids that flow through our veins? Expensive, beautiful poisons that make us feel ill and prolong our lives. As an icebreaker, we asked, "What are you getting?" instead of "What are you drinking?" Here are two bottles, unlabeled, representing the two chemo drugs I received in succession, over nine months. Two also represents cancer twice: the original endometrial and then the recurrence. I was a painter long before cancer, but after it, I paint nearly every day as a way to rejoice but also to leave my mark.
