Current Changes in Lung Cancer Work: Oncology Pharmacist Scott Campbell to Speak at LiveLung Augusta August Meeting

LiveLung, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting lung cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners, invites the CSRA’s lung cancer community to its educational meeting on Tuesday, August 11, at 11:30 a.m. The free event, which includes a complimentary lunch, will take place at The Kroc Center- 1833 Broad St., Augusta, GA 30904.

This month’s presentation, “Current Changes in Lung Cancer Work,” will be led by Scott Campbell, oncology pharmacist. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how current changes in the lung cancer landscape can improve outcomes.

Oncology pharmacists are medicine experts who specialise in cancer care. They check and prepare chemotherapy, figure out exact drug dosages, help manage side effects like pain and nausea and work with doctors to ensure treatments are safe and effective. The also educate patients or how to take medicine at home, what side effects to watch for, and how to handle missed doses.

Scott Cambell was born and raised in Augusta, GA. He completed pharmacy school at the University of Georgia and then completed two years of pharmacy residency to specialize in oncology pharmacy. Campbell currently works at the Georgia Cancer Center as a clinical specialist in the lung cancer clinics.
