Help Is Out There: LiveLung Charlotte Highlights Adult Services for People Impacted by Lung Cancer

CHARLOTTE, NC (January 29, 2026) — LiveLung, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting lung cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners, invites the Charlotte lung cancer community to its monthly educational meeting on Tuesday, February 10 at 11:30 a.m. The meeting, which includes a complimentary lunch, will take place at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1000 East Morehead Street, Fellowship Hall, Room 205, Charlotte, NC 28204.

This month’s meeting will feature Tomesia “Mesha” Hawkins, Assistant Division Director, Services for Adults, Mecklenburg County, presenting “Help Is Out There: Adult Services for People Impacted by Lung Cancer.” Hawkins brings over a decade of experience in social services and more than 12 years in mental health, serving populations from adolescence through older adulthood. She has overseen a broad range of Adult and Aging Services programs and is deeply committed to advocacy, empowerment, and addressing systemic challenges affecting vulnerable adults.

“The services and programs within Services for Adults are designed to strengthen the well-being of adults across Mecklenburg County by providing compassionate support, protecting vulnerable individuals, and connecting residents with the tools they need to thrive,” Hawkins said.

LiveLung’s educational meetings provide valuable resources and opportunities for lung cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners to learn, network, and build community. Each meeting features an expert guest speakerwho shares insights to empower attendees with knowledge and support.
