LiveLung, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting lung cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners, invites the Nashville lung cancer community to its educational meeting, which includes complimentary lunch, on Wednesday, August 19, from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm at West End UMC 2200 West End Avenue, Room LL2, Nashville, TN 37203.

This month’s meeting will feature Dr. David Spigel, chief scientificofficer at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, presenting the newest information about drug development and clinical trials for lung cancer patients. Attendees will learn how Dr. Spigel works with researchers to ensure the best treatments and studies are available to them.

Dr. Spigel joined SCRI in 2003 after completing a fellowship in hematology and oncology at The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. As the chief scientific officer, he oversees all scientific aspects of SCRI’s clinical trials programs. He also serves as the primary contact for pharma and biotech partners. As Dr. Spigel says, “I am dedicated to providing each patient with the latest advancements in cancer treatments. I work closely with a multidisciplinary team of experts to design individualized treatment plans for each patient’s needs.”

LiveLung’s educational meetings provide valuable resources and opportunities for lung cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners to learn, network, and build community. Each meeting features an expert guest speaker who shares insights to empower attendees with knowledge and support.
