PITTSBURGH, PA (June 2, 2026) – LiveLung, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting lung cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners, invites the Pittsburgh community to its monthly educational meeting on Thursday, June 11, at 11:30 a.m. The meeting, which includes a complimentary lunch and parking, will take place at Hyatt House Pittsburgh/ Bloomfield/ Shadyside, 5335 Baum Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.

This month’s presentation, “QiGong, Tai Chi and Their Impact on Lung Cancer Patients and Survivors,” will be led by Suzen Segall, M.Ed., a wellness consultant and personal trainer. During her presentation, Segall will demonstrate a simple self-acupressure technique tailored to the needs of attendees—an approach that is easy to learn and practice at home. These techniques complement the broader benefits of QiGong and Tai Chi, including reducing stress, depression, and anxiety; improving memory and sleep; reducing fatigue; supporting joint health; enhancing balance and coordination; and helping manage pain.

“When performed over both long and short periods of time, Qigong and Tai Chi are shown to improve cognitive functions like attention, problem solving, and memory, and physical functions – all of which lung cancer patients and survivors may find beneficial,” Segall notes.

Segall holds a master’s and specialist degree in Counselor Education from the University of Pittsburgh and is certified in integrated health and wellness through The Jain Meditation International Center. She has earned Tai Chi and QiGong certifications and continues her QiGong studies.

LiveLung’s educational meetings provide valuable resources and opportunities for lung cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners to learn, network, and build community. Each meeting features an expert guest speaker who shares insights to empower attendees with knowledge and support.
