PITTSBURGH, PA (April 1, 2026) – LiveLung, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting lung cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners, invites the Pittsburgh community to its monthly educational meeting on Thursday, April 9, at 11:30 a.m. The meeting, which includes a complimentary lunch and parking, will take place at Hyatt House Pittsburgh/ Bloomfield/ Shadyside, 5335 Baum Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.

This month’s meeting will feature D. Elizabeth "Sunny" Cohen, PhD, Certified Medical Reiki Master (CMRM), presenting “Reiki for Cancer Patients: An Integrative Approach to Relaxation and Healing.” During this session, attendees will learn how Reiki—a gentle, non-invasive technique—can reduce stress, anxiety, and pain, support emotional balance, and enhance the body’s natural healing process during and after cancer treatment.

Dr. Cohen is a retired international professor, researcher, and award-winning filmmaker, as well as a lung cancer survivor. Practicing Reiki since the late 1990s, she has been a Reiki Master, Educator, and Distance Healer since 2011 and earned certification as a Medically Certified Reiki Master (MCRM) in September 2025, authorizing her to accompany clients in medical settings. She is the author of Inner Growth Thru Reiki (2023).

LiveLung’s educational meetings provide valuable resources and opportunities for lung cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners to learn, network, and build community. Each meeting features an expert guest speaker who shares insights to empower attendees with knowledge and support.
