Understanding Lung Cancer Diagnosis: Jason Henry, MD to Speak at LiveLung Augusta July Meeting

AUGUSTA, GA (July 8, 2026) LiveLung, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting lung cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners, invites the CSRA’s lung cancer community to its educational meeting on Tuesday, June 9, at 11:30 a.m. The free event, which includes a complimentary lunch, will take place at The Kroc Center- 1833 Broad St., Augusta, GA 30904.

This month’s presentation, “The Road to Diagnosis – A Pulmonologist’s Review of Lung Cancer Diagnosis,” will be led by Jason Henry, MD. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how timely evaluation and emerging diagnostic techniques can improve outcomes.

“Early detection of lung cancer can truly save lives. When we identify lung cancer at an early stage, patients have significantly more treatment options and much higher survival rates, yet too many cases are still diagnosed late because symptoms often don’t appear early on. Raising awareness about screening and timely evaluation is one of the most powerful tools we have to improve outcomes and give patients the best chance at a longer, healthier life,” said Dr. Henry.

Jason Henry, MD is a board-certified physician in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine. He serves as a pulmonary and critical care specialist at Piedmont Augusta Hospital, where he specializes in advanced bronchoscopy and minimally invasive pleural procedures. He is an active member of both the Piedmont Augusta Cancer Committee and Lung Cancer Steering Committee and is dedicated to advancing innovative approaches to lung cancer diagnosis and treatment. Passionate about improving patient outcomes through education and awareness, he advocates for increased utilization of lung cancer screening and timely evaluation, recognizing that early detection remains one of the most effective tools for saving lives.
