2021 was a bumper year for kidney cancer developments, including several new treatment approvals by the FDA and a much better understanding of how kidney cancer is impacted by COVID-19 infections and vaccines.

In June 2020, Kayla Bulkley gave birth to her and her husband’s long-awaited baby girl, Jane. Within a month, Kayla was diagnosed with kidney cancer.

The Kidney Cancer Association, alongside the American Urological Association and a group of kidney cancer-focused advocacy organizations, wrote this week to congratulate then-President-elect Joe Biden and urge him to make the needs of people impacted by kidney cancer and kidney cancer research a top priority for the incoming administration.
