Chris Pedersen

Diagnosed with genetic colon cancer in 2008, Chris Pedersen chose her own way of treating the condition (MYH-Associated Polyposis) instead of the recommended removal of her colon. Today, her modified vegan diet and alternative protocol has proved effective at keeping cancer away. She blogs about her journey and posts delicious recipes that follow her diet at healthyjourneycafe.com. Chris is wife, mother and grandmother living in Northern California.

Andy Seibert

Andy was diagnosed with bladder cancer when he was 15 months old and has been cancer-free since 1989. Passionate about issues related to justice and equity, Andy is an educator who lives in Indianapolis, Indiana with his wife Brittany and dog CJ.

Sherry Hanson

Sherry Hanson has published hundreds of articles, essays and poems. In 2013 she won a MORE Award for excellence in reporting on musculoskeletal issues from the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). She also won the 2014 Paumanok Award for Poetry from Farmingdale State College, Farmingdale, NY.

Sherry is a three-time survivor of ovarian cancer and volunteers in the “Survivors Teaching Students” program for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance of Oregon and Southwest Washington. She is also a volunteer Scientific Research Advocate for the Knight Cancer Institute, affiliated with Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Oregon.

Gary Stromberg

Gary Stromberg co-founded GIBSON & STROMBERG, a large and influential music public relations firm of the sixties and seventies. The company represented such luminaries as The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Muhammad Ali, Barbra Streisand, Boyz II Men, Neil Diamond, Ray Charles, The Doors, Earth, Wind & Fire, Elton John, Three Dog Night and Crosby, Stills, & Nash. He also spent time in the film business co-producing movies such as Car Wash (Universal Studios) and The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh (Lorimar/United Artists). Stromberg has also written three books, The Harder They Fall (Hazelden - 2007) and Feeding the Fame (Hazelden - 2009) and a third book for McGraw-Hill Publishing, entitled Second Chances, which was published in 2011. He's currently working on a fourth book, She's Come Undone, for HCI Publishing, which will come out next spring.
