A Cure Is Needed for MPNs, says 12-Year-Old

Author(s):

Jaden Persaud knows firsthand how a MPN diagnosis can affect a family's life.

A cure is needed for patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), says Jaden Persaud, one of CURE's 2018 MPN Hero recipients.

Jaden knows the impact of MPNs firsthand, as his mother, Jessica Kuhns, was diagnosed a few years ago. Now, the 12-year-old not only helps care for his mom around the house, but has also run fundraisers to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and created informational materials about MPNs so others can better understand this rare type of blood cancer.
