CURE Connections has launched a new video series that reviews the latest in prostate cancer treatment and highlights powerful stories of patients with the disease to align with Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
PLAINSBORO, N.J. (PRWEB) September 24, 2015 -- In recognition of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Michael J. Hennessy Associates, Inc. (MJH), CURE Connections™ has launched a new video series that reviews the latest in prostate cancer treatment and highlights powerful stories of patients with the disease.
According to the American Cancer Society, prostate cancer ranks as the leading non-skin cancer among men in the United States and is projected to kill more than 27,500 this year. “A new case of prostate cancer is diagnosed about every two minutes,” said David Lepping, vice president and executive producer of CURE Connections, a new video platform designed specifically for patients with cancer, featuring insightful interviews with leading oncologists and personal journeys of patients with cancer.
“This latest video series, part of CURE Connections, focuses on prostate cancer and will enhance outreach to patients seeking information and support. It is also designed for the dedicated medical professionals who help patients live healthy and fulfilling lives,” Lepping added.

“Awareness, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Prostate Cancer” features interviews with Dr. Leonard Gomella, a physician involved in both basic science and clinical research of new diagnostic techniques and treatments through Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Kimmel Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Pa., and two of his patients who share their feelings about facing initial poor prognoses and finding the best possible treatment options with the help of Dr. Gomella.
Ed Bell, 88, was diagnosed in 1992 with advanced metastatic disease that had spread to his bones. Dr. Gomella enrolled him in a clinical trial that saved his life and today, 23 years later, his cancer remains at a low grade with no symptoms. John Buehler, 55, was diagnosed with prostate cancer six years ago and was given a poor prognosis by his first physician. A family member recommended Dr. Gomella, who provided positive treatment options, followed by successful surgery. His story focuses on the journey from distraught patient to strong advocate for awareness and screening.
A longtime leader in print and digital publications, Michael J. Hennessy Associates, Inc., debuted CURE Connections in August to provide valuable information and explore challenging topics such as being diagnosed with cancer, talking to your doctor about the diagnosis and next steps, myths about cancer and treatment and symptoms management. Many CURE Connections videos are available for viewing, at the patient’s convenience, at
