The DONNA Foundation celebrated the 19th running of DONNA Marathon Weekend

The 19th annual DONNA Marathon Weekend concluded Sunday with more than 9,700 runners registered in events across the First Coast. Athletes from all 50 states and 11 countries laced up for multiple competitive race events, which took place January 31 through February 1.

Celebrating survivorship, remembrance and the hope that comes with choosing love over fear, participants raised nearly $250,000 in support of The DONNA Foundation’s critical programs, surpassing the organization’s goal. Fundraising will continue through February 28. Proceeds from DONNA Marathon Weekend provide hope, support and financial relief to those living with breast cancer, both local to Jacksonville and across the country.

The 26.2 with DONNA The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer™ is the only marathon in the country dedicated to serving those living with breast cancer. This year’s marathon Sunday, which took runners through a double-loop course across the Jacksonville Beaches, saw both repeat and new champions, and set a new course record for the women’s half marathon in its 19th running, including:

This year's DONNA Marathon Weekend was a record-breaking event, and not just because of the historic temperatures. New records were set, including Liina Winborn's impressive one hour and sixteen minute finish in the women's half marathon, shattering a course record that had stood since 2011. Further highlighting the exceptional performances of this year’s athletes, Heather Cohen's completion of the Ultra 110 Marathon earned her a triple victory as the Women’s 110 Champion, the Adaptive 110 Champion, and the Marathon Adaptive Champion. These remarkable achievements demonstrate the indomitable spirit of participants in this weekend’s signature events, reflecting the shared commitment to finish line victories both on the course and in the fight to finish breast cancer.

“Marathon Sunday tested all of us. It was unusually cold, uncomfortable, and hard in ways Florida runners rarely experience,” said Amanda Napolitano, Executive Director of The DONNA Foundation. “More than 9,700 athletes registered to participate in DONNA Marathon Weekend, and despite the extreme cold, the determination and heart shown across our race courses was extraordinary. That is what makes this community so special. When people participate for a purpose beyond themselves, they find strength they didn’t know they had. This weekend was a beautiful reminder that hope grows when people come together, and that love over fear is more than a phrase here –– it is something you can see, feel, and witness at every mile.”

DONNA Marathon Weekend’s races, including the FIS DONNA 5K, DONNA Dash, ultra marathon, half marathon, marathon and the second running of the Pete’s Bar DONNA Crawl, took place in the beautiful Jacksonville beaches this year, some of which extended through Jacksonville, Neptune and Atlantic Beaches. “DONNA Marathon Weekend has always reflected the very best of Jacksonville,” said Donna Deegan, Mayor of Jacksonville and founder of The DONNA Foundation. “This year, in particularly challenging weather, our community showed what it means to care for one another. You saw neighbors cheering for strangers, volunteers serving with full hearts, and survivors surrounded by love and encouragement. That is the magic of this weekend. It reminds us that when a community rallies around hope, it creates strength far beyond the race course.”

95 participants logged 15,641 miles over the course of four months as part of The DONNA Foundation’s fourth annual 110-Mile-A-Day Challenge and virtual events. The challenge encouraged families and individuals to collectively walk one mile per day while focusing on living a healthy, fearless and sustainable life. Miles were logged from October 1, 2025 to February 1, 2026.

DONNA Marathon Weekend will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2027, with races planned for February 5 through 7. Stay connected with The DONNA Foundation for more information at breastcancermarathon.com.
