Monumental change began about 11 years ago with the discovery of the JAK mutation, which led to new agents, future studies and more reliable diagnostic measures. Also, more studies are looking at the prognosis of patients diagnosed with MPNs, so that physicians can be more informed in discussing potential outcomes and treatment options with their patients.
