PLAINSBORO, N.J. — (June 7, 2016) CURE Media Group, the nation’s leading digital and print media enterprise focused on cancer patients, has added three colon cancer organizations and one bile duct cancer foundation to its growing Advocacy Spotlight Partnership program. The new partners are Fight Colorectal Cancer, Colon Cancer Alliance, Colon Cancer Coalition and the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.

“As CURE Media Group continues to expand its quickly growing Advocacy Spotlight Partnership program to more than 70 partners, adding these four organizations highly benefits people seeking information on colon and bile duct cancers,” says Mike Hennessy Jr., president of CURE Media Group. “They’re able to access a plethora of new content that educates and informs them on dynamic advancements, research, advocacy, education and so much more. Patients and others are benefiting greatly from content stemming from these four noteworthy organizations.”

Founded in 2005 by survivors and family members who believed in making a difference, Fight Colorectal Cancer is the leading nonprofit, patient advocacy group in colorectal cancer and an active participant in cancer research. It has grown to become an organization known for colorectal cancer awareness, advocacy, patient education and research programs, all centered around a preventable disease that is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States.

The Colon Cancer Alliance was founded in 1999 by a group of 41 survivors, caregivers and friends who saw the need to educate the public about colon cancer while providing support to those affected by the disease. Its mission, to eliminate colon cancer from the top three cancer killers, is being accomplished by championing prevention, funding cutting-edge research and providing the highest quality patient support services.

Founded in 2005 under the guiding principles of educating people about the disease and encouraging early screening, the Colon Cancer Coalition has grown to become a nationally recognized partner in the fight against colon cancer. As a member of the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable, the Coalition collaborates with other like-minded organizations on the goal of increasing colorectal screening rates to 80 percent by 2018. Through its signature Get Your Rear in Gear® races and Tour de Tush bike rides, the Colon Cancer Coalition in the unique position to fund the goal at the community level while investing in programs that will drive home the importance of screening.

Founded in 2006, the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (CCF) is a global organization whose mission is to find a cure and improve the quality of life for those affected by bile duct cancer. Cholangiocarcinoma, a highly lethal cancer with poor prognosis, has no effective strategies for prevention, early diagnosis or long-term treatment. Although considered rare, with 6,000 cases diagnosed a year in the U.S., the worldwide incidence and mortality is increasing. CCF strives to address this unmet medical need by advancing research efforts, increasing knowledge and understanding, and promoting collaboration among all members of the cholangiocarcinoma community.
