The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is Now Blood Cancer United

ICYMI-The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is now Blood Cancer United, and we are raising awareness during Blood Cancer Awareness Month and Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this September.

LLS, now Blood Cancer United, has always been dedicated to curing blood cancer and improving the quality of life for patients and their families. That mission, and our free resources and services, remain the same for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. During Blood Cancer Awareness Month and Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we highlight the support we provide every day throughout the year to individuals facing blood cancer. And, with our new name, we unite in recognition of all blood cancers and the impact they have on the lives of our patients and caregivers.

Our professional education team provides continuing education, online referral, podcast episodes webinars, videos, and publications to ensure that you have what you need in caring for blood cancer patients and families.

We are excited to share a recent workshop for professionals who work with adolescents and young adults (AYA). Clinician Strategies and Resources: Caring for AYAs as they Transition to Cancer Survivorship, held in June 2024, is now available on demand through December 2025 for continuing education credit. Clinician Strategies and Resources II: Bridging Primary Care and Oncology in AYA Cancer Survivorship, held in September 2025, will be available soon on demand.

Connecting your patients with Blood Cancer United using the online referral form is the first step in linking them with our free resources and services.

Our Information Specialists provide patients and families with knowledge about disease, treatment, and survivorship along with the services available to you from Blood Cancer United and other organizations. Our patient and caregiver education team publishes the most up-to-date information on all blood cancer diagnoses as well as presents webinars, videos, podcast episodes, and online chats. Blood Cancer United dietitians with our Nutrition Education Services Center schedule a 1:1 consultation with patients and caregivers dealing with any type of cancer so that they may manage the nutritional aspects of their care.

And, if clinical trials are something you have discussed with your patients, the Blood Cancer United Clinical Trial Support Center nurses can help them better understand your trial options and provide information about resources so they can access trials. Their newly launched partnership with Carebox provides a search tool that makes it easier to find blood cancer specific trials that are most meaningful to your patients as well as helping you connect with one of our navigators.
