Cancer and Careers is hosting a conference on June 22 in New York City for patients and survivors. The free conference explores the challenges people face as they try to balance their cancer treatment and recovery with finding and keeping a job. Topics will include tips for job searching, health insurance, working during treatment, re-entering the job market and how to deal with medical and legal issues that may arise. There will also be a special session devoted to young adults with cancer. And if you're not near New York, you're in luck! This is the first year travel scholarships will be available for attendees. In addition, oncology nurses and social workers wanting to learn more about how to help their working-age patients, six free credits for continuing education are up for grabs.
