Participating in a Lung Cancer Registry Can Be Empowering

Taking part in a lung cancer registry can be beneficial for both current and future patients, according to Sandra Shaw, director of the lung cancer registry at the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation.

By donating data, current patients can feel empowered and create a meaningful legacy. Information that is collected on the registry includes time of diagnosis, symptoms before diagnosis and the types of treatments a patient has. Researchers can then use this information to identify patterns and create new and more effective treatment patterns that will lead to better outcomes.
