After extensive chemo treatment was completed, intended to kill all the leukemic cells in my sick body, a courier was sent to Israel to collect the harvested marrow from my donor, and immediately fly it back to the U.S. where I was to be infused.

It dawned on me that even when I am going though horrible chemo, I feel better when I can be outside in the summer. I enjoy sitting in a lawn chair out in front and chatting with the neighbors.

"As I’ve endured my time with cancer, I’ve come to the realization that I’ve given it preferential treatment. For the past few years, I’ve given cancer the front seat and not only that, sometimes, I’ve even allowed cancer to take the driver’s wheel. I’ve become a passenger on my own life’s journey."
