After any kind of health trauma, even the good news comes with an air of skepticism, caution and even fear. That said, there's a reason to celebrate any day we get to live and argue in favor of faith and hope, not fear.

Since being diagnosed with thymic cancer late in 2009, I have written articles, a book and blogged about the cancer experience mostly as a therapeutic exercise — a way to cast the demon outside of myself — and as an offering to others survivors.

In honor of Ovarian Cancer Month, it is only appropriate for me to discuss ovarian cancer. "Ovarian cancer" are two of the scariest words in any language for a woman to hear — screening for it at this time is poor and more often than not, by the time it is detected it is too late.
